Ansu Fati is set to complete a permanent move to Monaco after the Ligue 1 club activated the purchase option in his loan deal. Barcelona will receive €11 million and reduce future salary commitments.
The transfer closes a difficult Barcelona spell for a player once viewed as the club’s next great academy star. Fati’s exit also improves Barcelona’s financial flexibility as they work toward more room under La Liga’s spending rules.
