Edson Alvarez and West Ham

West Ham and Mexico midfielder Edson Alvarez has denied an accusation that he was involved in an alleged 2024 kidnapping. Film producer Juan Jose Lopez Ordonez made the claim, while Alvarez said he had no involvement and rejected the allegation categorically.
Alvarez said he has instructed his legal team to evaluate action against people who make or spread false claims about him. The producer alleged members of Alvarez’s former father-in-law’s family detained him, while acknowledging he had no direct contact with Alvarez.
