Bayern Munich and Schalke
5 September 2026
Bayern Munich were held 0-0 by newly promoted Schalke, ending a run of scoring in 47 consecutive Bundesliga matches. It was Bayern’s first league game without a goal since their goalless draw against Bayer Leverkusen in February 2025.
Schalke goalkeeper Loris Karius made several important saves, including a late stop against Harry Kane. The draw also ended Bayern’s 67-matchday spell finishing every Bundesliga round in first place, with Freiburg moving ahead after winning their opening two games.
