Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Colombian teenager Samuel Martinez from Atletico Nacional. The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has travelled to Merseyside for final formalities, with the fee reported to be around £750,000.

Martinez is expected to remain with Atletico Nacional for another season before joining Liverpool next summer. The structure lets the club guide his development while keeping him in familiar surroundings for the next 12 months.

Celtic wanted to keep Iheanacho, who scored nine goals last season, but Bursaspor completed the move and unveiled him in their colours. On the same day, defender Maik Nawrocki left Celtic for Ligue 1 side Lens.

Leeds United have signed Bosnia-Herzegovina defender Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo for £34.1m. The 23-year-old has agreed a five-year contract at Elland Road and becomes Leeds’ second summer signing after Harry Wilson.

Muharemovic replaces Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton in June, and adds World Cup experience after featuring three times for Bosnia-Herzegovina. Juventus are reportedly due half the fee because of a clause from his Sassuolo sale.
