Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio has been acquitted of allegations that he distributed a sexually explicit video involving a minor without consent. Spanish prosecutors withdrew all charges against the 23-year-old during the trial in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

Three former Real Madrid academy team-mates were convicted and received one-year suspended prison sentences, restraining orders and restrictions on working with minors. The ruling is separate from Asencio’s recent drink-driving conviction, for which Real Madrid opened disciplinary proceedings.

Four major European football bodies have jointly urged public authorities to stop using blanket away-supporter bans as a routine safety measure. They endorsed Council of Europe guidance favouring individual accountability and restricting collective bans to exceptional, evidence-based circumstances.

The joint position followed UEFA’s Safety and Security Conference in Madrid and years of disputed supporter exclusions across Europe. The groups also called for stakeholder consultation, timely communication and fair treatment when authorities consider restricting travelling fans from matches.

Daniel Kretinsky and West Ham United

Daniel Kretinsky is set to become West Ham’s largest shareholder with a 46 percent stake after reaching an agreement involving shares previously held by the Gold family and other shareholders. The restructuring effectively ends Amanda Staveley’s immediate investment bid.

Existing pre-emption rights were triggered after Vanessa Gold agreed to sell her stake to Staveley. Kretinsky will rise to 46 percent, David Sullivan to 40 percent and Tripp Smith to 11 percent, while regulatory enquiries into Sullivan remain ongoing.

Chelsea say 39 players left the club this summer through sales and loans, generating more than £500 million including loan fees. The club estimates it made about £120 million in transfer profit despite spending £349 million on 11 incoming players.

Seventeen players were sold and another 22 loaned, with several options or obligations attached. Major departures included Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson and Marc Cucurella, while Chelsea increasingly traded with Premier League rivals and sister club Strasbourg to balance spending.

Hull City have condemned racist abuse directed at new signing Robinio Vaz after his season-long loan from Roma was announced on social media. The club deleted the post and said it is working with Humberside Police to identify responsible accounts.
