Five yellow school buses hired for World Cup transport were destroyed after New York Knicks title celebrations in Manhattan. The buses were part of a shuttle plan carrying fans to MetLife Stadium after backlash over high train prices.
Police said buses were set on fire, vandalised or trampled during overnight celebrations, with 63 arrests recorded. Organisers said no passengers or drivers were hurt and remaining World Cup shuttle services would continue as scheduled.
