Liverpool beat Tottenham 3-1 at Anfield to advance to the Carabao Cup fourth round. Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring, Cody Gakpo doubled the lead after half-time and Dominik Szoboszlai sealed the result with a stoppage-time strike.
Conor Gallagher headed Tottenham back into the tie in the 69th minute, but Spurs could not find an equaliser despite increased pressure. Liverpool made extensive changes yet controlled decisive moments, while Tottenham’s finishing problems continued despite creating several opportunities.
