Chelsea defeated Manchester United 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, extending Michael Carrick’s winless run to nine matches. Morgan Rogers opened the scoring before Cole Palmer converted a penalty following Lisandro Martínez’s dismissal.
United created several first-half chances but failed to score. Rogers broke the deadlock with a solo effort in the 50th minute. Martínez later conceded a penalty after striking Wesley Fofana with his elbow while already booked. Palmer converted, leaving United with ten players and little chance of recovering. Martínez will be suspended for the next league fixture.
