Ibrahima Konate revealed he battled depression during his final Liverpool season after the deaths of team-mate Diogo Jota and his father Hamady. The France defender said the personal losses deeply affected his form and mental state.
Konate said he kept too much pain inside while trying to support Liverpool during an injury crisis. He urged others to speak when struggling, saying footballers can suffer deeply despite money, status and public expectations.
