Nottingham Forest defeated Manchester City 3-1 at the City Ground, inflicting a third consecutive Premier League defeat on Maresca’s side. Former City striker Liam Delap scored twice as Forest climbed out of the relegation zone.
Jair Cunha opened the scoring after dispossessing Josko Gvardiol in the sixth minute. Delap doubled Forest’s lead in the 18th minute before Rayan Cherki pulled one back for City after half-time. Delap struck again in the 74th minute to seal Forest’s first home league victory of the season. City remain second, six points behind Arsenal.
