David Silva, Supreme Sha Tin and Hong Kong Rangers
7 November 2026
Former Manchester City and Spain midfielder David Silva scored on his return to professional football for Hong Kong club Supreme Sha Tin. The 40-year-old was named player of the match in a 1-1 draw against Hong Kong Rangers.
Silva, who retired in 2023 after leaving Real Sociedad, returned to competitive action after announcing his comeback last month. He converted a penalty in the 56th minute and played 84 minutes before being substituted. Hong Kong Rangers subsequently equalised. Supreme Sha Tin remain ninth in the 12-team top division, with Silva now beginning a new chapter in his playing career.
Why It Matters
Silva completes a competitive comeback three years after retirement and immediately contributes a goal for his new club.
