Real Madrid Postpone Proposed Ownership Reform Vote

Real Madrid and Florentino Pérez
2 November 2026

Real Madrid will not present proposed changes to the club’s legal and ownership structure at its general assembly on 21 November, delaying a potentially significant governance reform.

Pérez’s administration is still examining legal complications associated with restructuring the member-owned club. Any future proposal would require approval from member representatives followed by a wider membership referendum. The upcoming assembly will instead consider routine business, including financial accounts showing reported revenue of €1.221 billion.

Why It Matters

The delay preserves Madrid's existing ownership arrangements while its leadership considers structural changes.
