Police have identified a Barcelona supporter accused of striking Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga with a flag during last weekend’s El Clásico. Barcelona have also suspended the operation of their Gol 1957 supporters’ section for the match against Alavés.
La Liga reported the incident to the Spanish Football Federation and Anti-Violence Commission after Camavinga was struck during Madrid’s second-goal celebrations. The identified supporter could face a fine of up to €60,000 and a stadium ban, depending on disciplinary findings. Barcelona said the temporary supporters’ section closure was intended to address conduct that could expose the club to further sanctions.
