Alexia Putellas, London City Lionesses, Barcelona and Aitana Bonmatí
26 October 2026
Alexia Putellas won the 2026 Women’s Ballon d’Or for a record-equalling third time, matching Aitana Bonmatí’s tally. The 32-year-old midfielder led Barcelona to four trophies last season before joining London City Lionesses in July.
Putellas scored 21 goals and provided 13 assists during Barcelona’s 2025-26 campaign, helping the club win the Champions League, Spanish league, domestic cup and Super Cup. Her performances completed a remarkable return after suffering a serious ACL injury in 2022. Putellas previously won the award in 2021 and 2022, while Bonmatí claimed the following three editions.
