Franck Kessie has returned to Atalanta nearly a decade after leaving Bergamo, joining after his departure from the Saudi Pro League. The 29-year-old midfielder confirmed he spoke with other clubs, including amid interest from Juventus, before choosing Atalanta.
Kessie said the move was driven by his attachment to Atalanta and the city where his professional career developed. Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli said the club moved quickly for Kessie after Marten de Roon asked to leave for Roma.
