Everton’s Carabao Cup third-round match against Wolves has been moved from 9 September to 16 September only nine days before its original date. The late switch follows a scheduling conflict created by Liverpool’s Champions League home fixture.
Merseyside Police will not allow Everton and Liverpool home matches on the same night. UEFA declined the EFL’s request to move Liverpool’s Atletico Madrid tie, forcing Everton’s game back a week and causing Wolves’ Championship schedule to change too.
