Hamza Abdelkarim became the first Egyptian to represent Barcelona’s first team in an official match, entering as a late substitute against Rayo Vallecano. Hansi Flick introduced the young forward for Raphinha during Barcelona’s 5-2 La Liga victory.
Abdelkarim earned his opportunity after impressing during preseason following his move from Al Ahly. His competitive debut created a landmark for Egyptian football on a night when Barcelona recovered from an early deficit and moved top of La Liga.
