Slavko Vincic, Slovenia and the World Cup final

Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic has ended his professional refereeing career after taking charge of the 2026 World Cup final between Spain and Argentina. The Slovenian FA confirmed the 46-year-old’s retirement from top-level officiating on Monday.
Vincic also handled the 2022 Europa League final and 2024 Champions League final, making the World Cup final a career peak. His final match still drew scrutiny over Enzo Fernandez’s red card and a disallowed Spain goal.
