Hearts have appointed Wouter Vrancken as their new head coach on a two-year contract at Tynecastle. The Belgian manager arrives after leading Sint-Truiden to third in the Pro League, their highest finish in 60 years.

Vrancken replaces Derek McInnes after Hearts narrowly missed a first league title since 1960. The club say he was courted by several European sides, making his arrival a statement appointment before another ambitious Scottish Premiership season.
