Badr Al-Rzaiza has become president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation after an uncontested election, replacing Yasser Al-Misehal after seven years. Al-Misehal said Saudi Arabia’s 2026 World Cup performance was a major reason behind his decision to step down.

Al-Rzaiza said the new board will work collectively and target Gulf Cup and Asian Cup titles. Al-Misehal disclosed that the federation operates on an annual budget approaching one billion riyals and said the incoming administration faces no immediate financial challenge.
