Cagliari forward Yael Trepy has woken from a medically induced coma and is no longer on mechanical ventilation, two days after being pulled unconscious from a swimming pool. Hospital staff said he is alert, cooperative and shows no evident neurological deficits.
Doctors gradually reduced Trepy’s sedation and ventilation before he regained consciousness, although the 20-year-old remains in intensive care under close respiratory and clinical monitoring. The update marks a major improvement from his severe condition following Sunday’s pool incident.
