Aston Villa will be without Ian Maatsen until November because of an ankle injury, while Pau Torres is expected to miss around three weeks with a hamstring problem. Both defenders were hurt during Villa’s 2-1 Premier League defeat by Nottingham Forest.
Maatsen suffered the ankle problem after Villa had used all their substitutes, leaving them to finish with 10 men. Torres could potentially return against Brentford on October 10, while Villa are also managing a muscle problem affecting Matty Cash.
