Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn has signed for San Jose Earthquakes after leaving Nottingham Forest. The 30-year-old has agreed a contract through the 2030 MLS season and joins a side chasing the Western Conference lead this year.

Gunn played all three of Scotland’s World Cup group games before his move to California. Bruce Arena called him a quality goalkeeper with Premier League and World Cup experience, adding competition for Daniel and Earl William Edwards Jr.

Bruno Guimaraes has asked to leave Newcastle United, with Arsenal accelerating interest in the Brazil midfielder. A fee around £60m was initially discussed with his representatives, although Newcastle have not received direct contact from Arsenal yet.

Newcastle do not want to lose their captain after already selling Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon this summer. Arsenal are weighing midfield options, but Guimaraes’ age, price and Newcastle’s rebuild make any deal politically and financially delicate.

Fenerbahce are increasingly confident of signing Mason Greenwood from Marseille in a deal worth around €45m. The Turkish club have been advancing talks for the 24-year-old former Manchester United forward after a strong Ligue 1 season.

Marseille are open to selling, while Fenerbahce believe a lucrative package can beat rival interest from Roma and Atletico Madrid. Manchester United are set to benefit from a sizeable sell-on clause inserted when Greenwood left Old Trafford.

New England Revolution have signed USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner on another loan from Lyon, with a purchase option included. The 32-year-old returns as a targeted allocation money-eligible player and does not require a designated player slot.

Turner revived his career at New England before moving to Arsenal and later Lyon through Nottingham Forest. He has 55 USMNT caps and rejoined the Revolution last summer after his Lyon future shifted under a changed executive structure.

London City Lionesses have signed two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas on a three-year deal after her Barcelona contract expired. The Spain midfielder joins one of the most ambitious women-only clubs in England after 14 trophy-laden years in Catalonia.

Putellas chose London City over rival offers, giving Michele Kang’s project a landmark signing and the WSL a major global name. The club expect her arrival to lift attendances, sponsorship appeal, academy standards and their push toward European qualification.

Reuteler brings 184 Frankfurt appearances, 54 goals, 44 assists and 91 Switzerland caps to Renee Slegers’ squad. Arsenal believe her attacking midfield versatility strengthens their push to close the WSL gap and build a title-challenging group.

Qarabag forward Camilo Duran is set to undergo a medical ahead of becoming Celtic’s first summer signing this week. Martin O’Neill confirmed the 24-year-old Colombian is completing checks after Celtic agreed an undisclosed fee with Qarabag.

Duran impressed with 15 goals and 10 assists last season, including five goals in 10 Champions League appearances. His arrival would ease fan concern after rivals Hearts and Rangers moved faster in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal Set to Sign Meslier

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer from Leeds United. An agreement has been reached, with Meslier at Arsenal’s training centre to finalise terms and undergo a medical.

Meslier is out of contract and would initially arrive behind David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Arsenal are planning ahead in case Kepa leaves, while teenager Tommy Setford is expected to go out on loan this summer.
