Cavan Sullivan and Philadelphia Union

Philadelphia Union teenager Cavan Sullivan became the first 16-year-old in MLS history to record a goal contribution in four consecutive matches. He scored in a 3-1 win over New York Red Bulls, extending his run to two goals and three assists.

Sullivan now has three goals and seven assists in 20 league appearances this season, tying Freddy Adu for the most MLS goal contributions by a player aged 16 or younger. He previously became the league’s youngest debutant at 14.

Atletico Madrid and Sevilla

Atletico Madrid beat Sevilla 3-1 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to move provisionally top of La Liga with seven points. Alejandro Baena scored twice and Ademola Lookman added another as Atletico built a three-goal advantage inside the opening 33 minutes.

Baena struck in the fourth minute, Lookman doubled the lead in the 26th and Baena scored again seven minutes later. Miguel Sierra pulled one back after the break, but Sevilla could not threaten Atletico’s control of the result.

Juventus and Parma

Juventus defeated Parma 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium to record a second successive Serie A victory. Substitute Nicolas Gonzalez opened the scoring after the break before Teun Koopmeiners doubled the advantage on his first appearance of the season.

Parma frustrated Juventus through a goalless first half while Francisco Conceicao struck the woodwork. Luciano Spalletti’s substitutions eventually changed the game, with Gonzalez breaking the deadlock and Koopmeiners adding the second after replacing the injured Andrea Cambiaso.

Al-Khaleej and Al-Ahli

Al-Khaleej beat Al-Ahli 3-1 in the Saudi Pro League, ending Al-Ahli’s run of 11 consecutive league victories against Al-Qassim clubs. Iker Kortajarena opened the scoring before late goals from Julian Dominguez and Mohammed Sawan secured the upset.

Ivan Toney equalised for Al-Ahli in the 66th minute, but Dominguez restored Al-Khaleej’s lead with five minutes remaining. Sawan then scored in stoppage time, lifting Al-Khaleej to eight points while Al-Ahli remained on six after four rounds.

Al-Ittihad and Al-Fateh

Al-Ittihad were held to a 0-0 Saudi Pro League draw by Al-Fateh after failing to convert sustained pressure. Croatian goalkeeper Adrian Simber produced several important saves, while the woodwork also denied the visitors before their upcoming clash with Al-Nassr.

Simber stopped efforts from Houssem Aouar and Steven Bergwijn, while Danilo Pereira and Muath Faqihi struck the frame of the goal. Al-Fateh also threatened on the break, leaving Al-Ittihad frustrated despite controlling much of the attacking play.
