Gateshead FC, Flacks Group and Shoreline Limited
30 October 2026
The proposed takeover of Gateshead FC by American investment group Flacks Group is close to collapsing because of an unresolved dispute involving another prospective buyer. The National League club is already facing financial and sporting difficulties.
Flacks Group says it needs written confirmation that Shoreline Limited has no outstanding ownership claim following an earlier purchase agreement. The group claims Shoreline has not provided that assurance and warned it may withdraw from the transaction. Gateshead have also experienced delayed wage payments, remain without a permanent manager and sit 11 points from safety after 14 matches.
Why It Matters
A failed takeover could deepen Gateshead's financial difficulties and threaten the club's stability.
