Kasper Dolberg, Ajax and Denmark

Ajax have confirmed that striker Kasper Dolberg suffered a cruciate ligament injury while on international duty with Denmark. The 29-year-old underwent surgery in Copenhagen on Tuesday and is unlikely to play again this season.
Because the injury occurred during international duty, Ajax may recover part of Dolberg’s basic salary through FIFA’s Club Protection Programme after the qualifying waiting period. The scheme provides financial support while eligible players remain unable to work.
