Matteo Darmian and Bologna
8 October 2026
Bologna have signed former Manchester United and Inter defender Matteo Darmian on a free transfer. The 36-year-old returns to Serie A after completing a trial, agreeing a contract until the end of the 2026-27 season.
Bologna moved for Darmian after right-back Emil Holm suffered an injury requiring surgery and an expected four-to-six-month recovery. Darmian’s agreement includes an option for another season linked to performance conditions, providing immediate defensive cover.
