Celtic full-back Alistair Johnston will be sidelined until October after a scan confirmed another injury problem. The Canada international went off at half-time against Kilmarnock after having already missed most of last season with a hamstring injury.
Manager Martin O’Neill acknowledged Celtic need more defensive depth before the transfer deadline. Nineteen-year-old Colby Donovan has been deputising at right-back, while Scotland international Anthony Ralston provides another option as Johnston begins another extended spell on the sidelines.
