Wrexham and Sunderland have agreed a significant fee for goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, moving his proposed transfer beyond earlier discussions. Add-ons could make the deal Wrexham’s record purchase, with the 26-year-old now expected to undergo a medical.
Patterson lost his Sunderland starting place before spending part of last season on loan at Millwall. His arrival would strengthen Wrexham’s goalkeeping options and could eventually replace Arthur Okonkwo or Danny Ward, both entering the final years of their contracts.
