France beat Morocco 2-0 to reach the World Cup semi-finals, with Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele scoring after the break. Mbappe also had a penalty saved before recovering to level Lionel Messi on eight tournament goals.
Morocco missed Ismael Saibari and struggled to threaten in a conservative strikerless setup. Mbappe later played down an ankle scare after leaving the pitch, saying he was completely fine ahead of a semi-final against Spain or Belgium.
