Southampton players are exploring possible legal action against their own club after the EFL expelled the team from the Championship play-offs. Several squad members were reportedly furious after learning the verdict at the same time as the public.
Players have contacted the Professional Footballers’ Association for advice, with some losing possible promotion-related salary restoration after earlier pay cuts. The squad are expected to meet the club while Southampton prepare an appeal against the punishment.
