LeBron James took sole possession of the NBA regular-season games played record by starting his 1,612th career game. The milestone added another historic mark to a career already defined by unmatched longevity and a record book few players have come close to matching. James broke the tie with Robert Parish after previously matching the record, doing so in his 23rd NBA season. He said the achievement was never a specific target, but acknowledged that many of the records and milestones reached in recent years have been especially meaningful.
