A group led by Bill Chisholm has agreed to purchase the Boston Celtics for $6.1 billion, setting a record for the highest franchise sale in North American sports history.
The deal surpasses the $6.05B Washington Commanders sale. Current CEO Wyc Grousbeck will remain in charge until the 2027-28 season. The transaction could also impact NBA expansion discussions.
