Monterrey and Chicago Fire have agreed a transfer for MLS Golden Boot leader Hugo Cuypers. The deal is worth $7.5m plus another $500,000 in add-ons, with personal terms already agreed.
Cuypers leads MLS with 13 goals this season, but Chicago are moving him after recently signing Robert Lewandowski. The transfer gives Monterrey a proven scorer and reshapes Chicago’s attack before their playoff push.
