Arsenal are nearing an agreement to sign Bruno Guimaraes after Newcastle previously rejected a verbal offer below £60m. All parties now want the situation resolved, with the midfielder awaiting permission to undergo a medical examination.
Guimaraes informed Newcastle that he wanted to join Arsenal and is currently at the club’s Spanish training camp. Completion would continue Newcastle’s major summer departures after Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and head coach Eddie Howe.
