West Ham United, Nuno Espírito Santo and Scott Parker
3 November 2026
West Ham have dismissed manager Nuno Espírito Santo following a disappointing start to their Championship campaign. The club are in advanced talks with former midfielder Scott Parker about replacing him, although no appointment has been confirmed.
Back-to-back home defeats to Southampton and West Bromwich Albion left West Ham eighth, six points behind leaders Middlesbrough. The club retained Nuno despite last season’s Premier League relegation but decided a managerial change was necessary to protect its promotion ambitions. Parker has previously led Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley to the Premier League. Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will temporarily oversee the team.
Why It Matters
West Ham are changing managers to protect their chances of returning immediately to the Premier League.
