Giovanni van Bronckhorst has returned to Feyenoord as head coach on a two-year contract, with an option for a further year. He replaces Robin van Persie, who was sacked after 16 months in charge.

Van Bronckhorst leaves Liverpool, where he had worked as part of Arne Slot’s staff before Slot’s dismissal. The former Rangers boss previously managed Feyenoord from 2015 to 2019, winning the Eredivisie title in 2017.
