Hannah Hampton said media focus on mistakes can damage the reputation of female goalkeepers, especially when positive performances receive less attention. The Chelsea and England goalkeeper spoke after winning the WSL Golden Glove for a second straight season.
Hampton urged goalkeepers to support each other and called for greater recognition of saves and clean sheets. She said repeated clips of errors hurt perceptions of women’s goalkeeping while the game is still fighting for wider respect.
