FIFA has updated its World Cup stadium code to ban fans from bringing reusable water bottles into venues. The change removes a previous allowance for empty transparent bottles and has raised fresh concerns about heat and access to water.
Fans will need to buy water inside stadiums unless they qualify for medical or baby-care exemptions. The policy comes as several outdoor venues face heat-risk concerns, while FIFA plans hydration breaks and climate-controlled benches for players.
