Columbus Crew dismissed head coach Henrik Rydström after only 14 league matches following a weak start to the MLS season. The club had collected just 13 points and decided the results, playing style and internal fit were not good enough.

General manager Issa Tall said the decision was based on results, tactical identity and cultural problems inside the club. Laurent Courtois will take over as interim head coach, while Theodor Olsson and Mak Pakhei have also departed.
