Burnley, Everton and ALK Capital

Burnley’s latest financial accounts reveal that a £38.8 million compensation award from Everton helped reduce their reported 2025-26 loss to £9 million. However, the payment remains subject to an appeal expected in January.
Without the compensation, Burnley would have recorded a £47.8 million loss. Total borrowings have fallen to £62.9 million, partly following repayment of money owed by the ownership group’s holding company. The club still faces substantial loan repayments and possible refinancing requirements. Its accounts acknowledge significant uncertainty if the Everton appeal succeeds.
Why It Matters
An unsuccessful compensation appeal could expose Burnley to a major financial shortfall while they struggle in the Championship.
