Real Madrid earned a narrow 1-0 win over Sevilla after Vinícius Junior scored the decisive first-half goal. Kylian Mbappé returned to the starting lineup, but Vinícius provided the main attacking moment at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Vinícius finished from inside the area in the 15th minute after a move that Sevilla felt should have been stopped for a foul involving Mbappé. Madrid then relied on defensive control to protect the lead.
