Promoted Schalke beat Union Berlin 3-1 to claim their first Bundesliga victory in more than three years. Robin Gosens opened the scoring, delivering Schalke’s first top-flight goal for 1,203 days after they began the season with two scoreless league matches.
Adil Aouchiche doubled Schalke’s advantage after half-time before Tim Skarke pulled one back in stoppage time and Maximilian Wober sealed the result. The win followed Schalke’s goalless draw with Bayern and marked another strong result on their Bundesliga return.
