Philadelphia Union defeated Toronto FC 4-1 to secure sixth place in the Eastern Conference and automatic entry into the first round of the MLS Cup playoffs. Seventeen-year-old Cavan Sullivan scored twice.
Cavan opened the scoring before his brother Quinn converted a penalty. Toronto replied through Josh Sargent, but Cavan restored Philadelphia’s two-goal advantage after half-time. Bruno Damiani completed the victory from the penalty spot. Cavan finished the regular season with 23 goal contributions, extending his MLS teenage record. Philadelphia will face third-seeded New England Revolution in a best-of-three playoff series.
