Inter Miami drew 1-1 with Chicago Fire before a club-record home crowd of 63,094 at Soldier Field. Robert Lewandowski scored early for Chicago before Casemiro headed in Lionel Messi’s corner after half-time to secure a point for Miami.
Messi’s assist was his league-leading 13th of the season and made him the first MLS player to record at least 30 goal contributions in three different seasons. Chicago goalkeeper Chris Brady made six saves as neither side found a late winner.
