After Germany’s 2-1 win over Ivory Coast
Germany defender Nico Schlotterbeck has been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup after suffering medial ligament damage in his left ankle. The Borussia Dortmund centre-back was forced off at half-time against Ivory Coast.
Julian Nagelsmann said Schlotterbeck would remain with the squad for now, despite being out for several months. Antonio Rudiger is expected to regain a bigger role as Germany prepare for Ecuador and the knockout phase.
