Bayern Munich have confirmed significant injuries to Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry following Saturday’s 2-2 Bundesliga draw against Borussia Dortmund. Saibari has undergone ankle surgery, while Gnabry has suffered a thigh muscle tear.

Saibari tore the syndesmosis ligament in his right ankle during a challenge with Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. His successful operation could be followed by approximately three months of recovery. Gnabry injured the back of his left thigh and may miss four to eight weeks. Michael Olise’s fitness remains uncertain, creating further problems ahead of Bayern’s Champions League meeting with Atlético Madrid.

Why It Matters

Bayern face a serious shortage of attacking players during a demanding European schedule.
