Michele Di Gregorio has officially joined Bournemouth from Juventus on loan until June 2027. Bournemouth will pay €1.3 million, potentially rising by €800,000 in bonuses, and hold an option to make the goalkeeper’s move permanent for another €12.7 million.

The permanent fee could rise by a further €1.5 million through sporting objectives. The completed transfer advances a story accepted earlier when Di Gregorio was only set to join, turning the proposed loan and purchase structure into an official agreement.

Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Julian Alvarez

Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, who remains determined to leave but still prefers Barcelona. Atletico have refused to sell him to Barcelona and told Arsenal they would seek around €150 million.

Atletico director Mateu Alemany met Arsenal counterparts in London, and Arsenal believe they can finance and complete a deal quickly if Alvarez agrees. His stance has softened slightly, but he has not yet given the London move a green light.

Sunderland and Jules Ahoka

Sunderland have signed 20-year-old midfielder Jules Ahoka from Royal Antwerp for €10 million, about £8.6 million. The DR Congo youth international has agreed a long-term contract after featuring in both of Antwerp’s league matches this season.

Ahoka becomes Sunderland’s third summer signing after Thomas Meunier and Dayann Methalie. Director of football Florent Ghisolfi said the club had tracked him closely and believes Sunderland offers the right environment for the midfielder to continue developing.

Aston Villa are working to sign Club Brugge centre-back Joel Ordonez, with discussions ongoing and the Belgian club seeking at least £40 million. Villa accelerated their interest after an £18 million offer for Southampton’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis was rejected.

Arsenal are in advanced talks with Al-Hilal over selling Gabriel Martinelli for at least £50 million. Discussions intensified during the previous 24 hours and a deal is now close, with Mikel Arteta making clear the winger can leave Arsenal.

A final agreement would still leave Martinelli to decide whether he wants the Saudi move after previously rejecting Galatasaray. Al-Hilal are offering wages significantly above his reported £180,000-a-week Arsenal deal, while his contract has 12 months remaining.
