UK sanctions have made direct payments to Russian entities legally difficult, weakening English interest despite long-term monitoring. PSG can still conduct the deal and are said to be pushing ahead through sporting advisor Luis Campos.

Sinclair Armstrong left Bristol City to join Turkish side Goztepe for an undisclosed fee. The forward signed a four-year contract with an option for another season after making 83 appearances and scoring seven goals for the Robins.

Bristol City sporting director James Ellis thanked Armstrong for his contribution and said the club will follow his development from afar. Goztepe finished sixth in the Turkish Super Lig and are owned by Sport Republic.
