Paris Brunner scored and assisted as Monaco defeated CSKA Sofia 2-1 away in the UEFA Conference League. The 20-year-old German attacker provided the decisive contributions in a victory that continued his strong start to the season.

Brunner struck in the third minute before setting up Ansu Fati’s goal before half-time. Monaco held on for the win, while Brunner remains unavailable for an upcoming domestic fixture because of an existing disciplinary suspension.

Lyon, Crystal Palace and Daichi Kamada

Lyon defeated Crystal Palace 3-2 in the Europa League despite a second-half fightback by the English visitors. Palace scored through Yeremy Pino and Daichi Kamada but could not recover from their poor first-half start.

Corentin Tolisso and Ernest Nuamah put Lyon two goals ahead. Pino pulled one back, Pavel Šulc restored the hosts’ two-goal cushion and Kamada struck late. Lyon held on to secure the victory at Groupama Stadium.

Ajax, Hajduk Split and Davy Klaassen

Ajax lost 2-1 away to Hajduk Split in their opening Conference League league-phase match. The Dutch side briefly equalised through Davy Klaassen but conceded again almost immediately following a defensive mix-up.

Abdoulie Sanyang gave Hajduk a first-half lead. Klaassen levelled after the break before Marin Šotiček restored the hosts’ advantage two minutes later. Play was also briefly halted because of pyrotechnics from supporters.

Juventus, Celta Vigo and Randal Kolo Muani

Juventus came from behind to defeat Celta Vigo 2-1 in the Europa League, with Randal Kolo Muani scoring an injury-time winner. The result gave the Italian club two victories from their opening two league-phase matches.

Hugo Álvarez opened for Celta in the 18th minute. Nick Woltemade equalised after the break before substitute Kolo Muani met Andrea Cambiaso’s cross in stoppage time to complete the comeback and put Juventus provisionally top of the table.

West Ham United, Lincoln City and Tomáš Souček

West Ham United defeated Lincoln City 6-0 in the Championship after the hosts received two straight red cards inside the first 23 minutes. The loss was Lincoln’s heaviest of the season.

Tom Hamer was dismissed after just 160 seconds and Conor McGrandles followed. Konstantinos Mavropanos opened the scoring before West Ham struck five more times after the break, including two from substitute Tomáš Souček.
